OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The ‘Simply Free Article Spinner’ online utility program was designed to be easy to use.
When you have registered and logged in, if you’ll click on the ‘Spinner’ tab, you will find a light blue box. The Spinner initializes with a small sample of nonsense text, so you can experiment with it if you wish.
STEP ONE: Entering your Article
When you’re ready to prepare multiple variations of your own article, then either type it into the box, or (if you’ve already written it elsewhere) just paste it into the box. If preparing your article elsewhere, you’ll want to avoid using Microsoft Word because it puts hidden codes in your writing. This probably won’t bother the Article Spinner, but in general the Article Directories don’t like the hidden stuff that Word adds, so best not to use it.
You type or paste your article into the blue box.
STEP TWO: Adding Brackets to your Article
Now you’re going to choose parts of your article where you’d like to have alternate phrases. For example, if your sentence is “Early that morning, John walked to town,” you could have the Spinner create variations like “In the early morning, John walked to town,” or “By the dawn’s early light, John walked to town.”
So your first step is to mark the places where you’d like to have variations. Mark these places with curly-brackets, like this –
{Early that morning}, John walked to town.
You don’t have to put the alternatives in yet. Right now you’re just going through your article and bracketing the places where substitutions can occur. You can bracket individual words, phrases, or entire sentences. You could also bracket entire paragraphs, if you wished to do so. But you might want to start with phrases, as it’s easier to manage. These instructions will refer to ‘phrases.’
A TIP: Generally, you will have an easier time if you leave punctuation such as commas and periods outside the bracketed phrase.
When you have placed brackets around the places where variations will be inserted, this step is done. Click the EXPAND PHRASES button.
♦ STEP THREE: Entering Alternate Phrases into the Boxes
Your article will be presented to you with each bracketed selection appearing in a separate text box.
Now you simply add alternate phrases in the box, one phrase per line. Do not add any commas after each alternate phrase; just enter each new alternate phrase on a new line.
When you have two or three (or more) alternates, press the TAB key to jump to the next box.
When you have typed alternates for all the selected phrases in the boxes, press the DONE button.
STEP FOUR: Re-compiling your Article
The Spinner program will re-compile your article with all of your alternatives assembled, and will ask you to press the CONTINUE button to see the result.
STEP FIVE: Displaying Endless Article Variations
The new display will contain two boxes.
In the UPPER BOX, you will see a ’spun’ variation of your article. The program has randomly selected *one* of the phrases from the boxes in every case. If you click on the RE-SPIN button, you’ll see a new variation of your article. This can be done over and over again.
You can create as many variations of your article as you wish.
In the LOWER BOX, you will see your re-compiled source-code. This is your article, with the brackets that you added, but inside each set of brackets, you will see each of your variations, separated by the ‘pipe’ character (a vertical line).
STEP SIX: Copying your Spun Article
To use your spun article, just place the cursor in the box containing the spun article.
Press Control-A to select A-ll of the article, and then press Control-C to C-opy the entire article to your computer’s ‘clipboard.’
You can then paste the article (Control-V) into the submission box of your favorite article directory.
STEP SEVEN: Save your Source-code!
It’s easy to do.
Just place the cursor in the LOWER BOX containing the source-code with the brackets. Press Control-A to select A-ll of the source-code, and then press Control-C to C-opy the source-code to your computer’s ‘clipboard.’
You can then paste the source-code into a text file for safekeeping on your computer.
RE-SPINNING YOUR ARTICLE LATER
Any time you wish, log into this site, and paste your source-code into the original input box.
Click the EXPAND PHRASES button and it will take you to the screen with the alternate-boxes.
If you wish to tweak your article, you can, but you can also just press the DONE button and the Spinner program will re-compile your source code and present you with another spun article.
It’s that simple.
